Kenyan Film Wins First Oscar For Country

Africa is breaking new ground in the film industry. A film produced in Kenya, titled Watu Tote, has become the e first Kenyan film to win the student Oscars. Katja Benrath from Hamburg Media School scooped the oscar in the Narrative category for her short movie. “Watu Wote is film based on the 2015 Mandera Bus attack that has captivated global audiences. Its main theme is about how Muslims can help Christians against terrorists, even though they them self are under no threat to their life. Watch the trailer below.
