The incident also claimed the life of his brother, Andre, who was traveling with him at the time

Jota, aged 28, was a key figure for Liverpool FC and the Portuguese national team, known for his dynamic attacking play, relentless work ethic, and clinical finishing. Since joining Liverpool in 2020, he had become a fan favorite at Anfield and contributed significantly to the club’s domestic and European campaigns.
Born in Massarelos, Portugal, Jota’s professional career began at F.C. Paços de Ferreira before making his name with Atlético Madrid, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and ultimately Liverpool.
