    Nairobi is buzzing with excitement as it prepares to host the launch of the 7th Africa Youth in Tourism Summit (AYTIS) 2025. This pivotal event, taking place at the SNDBX offices on January 29, 2025. Will unveil the dynamic plans for the summit itself. Which will also be in Nairobi from June 10-13, 2025. This launch event promises to inspire and empower the next generation of tourism leaders across the continent.

    A Legacy of Impact: Africa Tourism Partners at the Helm with Nairobi

    Africa Tourism Partners, the driving force behind the summit. Has a proven track record of fostering economic growth and cooperation within Africa’s tourism sector. Their successful track record of hosting previous summits in Namibia, Ghana, Rwanda, and South Africa demonstrates their unwavering commitment. Which is to strengthening collaborations and advancing the industry throughout the continent.

    A Star-Studded Lineup: Leaders Shaping the Future

    The hybrid launch event will feature key messages from prominent leaders in the tourism industry. Kwakye Donkor, CEO of Africa Tourism Partners and Convener of the Summit, will be there. June Chepkemei, CEO of the Kenya Tourism Board; Elcia Grandcourt, Director for Africa at the UN World Tourism Organization; and Emily Mburu-Ndoria, Director of Trade Services at the AfCFTA Secretariat. Adding to this impressive roster are the AYTIS 2025 hosts, TEAMS Africa, represented by Joram Mwinamo, founder of SNDBX; Barry Clemens, CEO of Hospitality EQ; and Håvar Bauck, founder of HotelOnline.

    AYTIS: A Platform for Youth-Led Innovation

    Since its inception in 2019, AYTIS has become a premier Pan-African platform. It is fostering youth-led innovation and entrepreneurship in the tourism sector. A highlight of the 2025 summit is the annual Africa Youth in Tourism Innovation Challenge. A golden opportunity for young African entrepreneurs to showcase their groundbreaking ideas. Registration for this exciting competition is open until February 28, 2025, and encourages innovations that elevate technology. Furthermore promote sustainability, and encourage community engagement in tourism.

    A Collaborative Effort: Building a Sustainable Future

    Convened by Africa Tourism Partners in partnership with UN Tourism and BDO, hosted by TEAMS Africa, and supported by the AfCFTA Secretariat, AYTIS 2025 underscores the importance of sustainable tourism development in Africa. During the January 29th press conference in Nairobi, attendees will hear from key partners who will outline the summit’s objectives, explore the potential impact of the Innovation Challenge, and emphasize the crucial role of collaboration in achieving AYTIS’s vision and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

    AYTIS 2025 is commits to contributing to several key SDGs, including those focused on empowering youth and women, driving innovation, and fostering sustainable development within Africa’s tourism sector.
