Forbes Africa is currently inviting nominations for its prestigious 30 Under 30 list for 2024, celebrating young trailblazers across the continent. This initiative, now in its tenth year, spotlights 30 exceptional individuals under 30 years old who are making significant impacts in fields like the arts, business, technology, sports, and health.

The list has become a hallmark for identifying the continent’s emerging talents and future leaders. Forbes Africa’s managing editor, Renuka Methil, highlights the list’s importance in a continent teeming with youthful dynamism, noting its role in uncovering the next generation of influencers and leaders.

Among the illustrious alumni of the Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 list are notable musicians such as Tems, Mr Eazi, Davido, Wizkid, Sho Madjozi, Nasty C, Kabza De Small, and Burna Boy.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Nominees should be under the age of 30 as of March 30 and not previously featured on an Under 30 list.
  • Businesses must be profit-oriented and have a social impact.
  • Submissions and documents, including financials, must be in English.
  • Nominees can apply for up to two categories.
  • For business category applicants: must be based in Africa, operational for at least two years, and submit audited financial and registration documents.
  • In the creative, health/science, or sports categories: a two-year track record and proof of earnings or net worth are required.

Judging Process:

  1. Initial Evaluation: Forbes Africa will assess the candidates’ motivations. Lack of communication within a specified period indicates an unsuccessful nomination.
  2. Documentation Submission: Selected candidates will be asked to provide additional documents.
  3. In-depth Analysis: This stage involves thorough financial scrutiny and background checks for criminal records, lawsuits, or other serious allegations.
  4. Final Assessment: An expert panel will review the top candidates, with the editorial and research team making the final selection, ensuring diversity in various aspects.

This process is a rigorous endeavor to identify and celebrate the young individuals shaping Africa’s future.
